Mental Health Advocacy & Planning

 CPAC, as designated by the Camden County Board of Chosen Freeholders, administers the Camden County Mental Health Board, comprised of concerned citizens and primary or secondary users of mental health services. The Board assesses community needs in all areas of mental health services, monitors quality of the delivery system, and develops the Camden County Mental Health Plan.

    Research indicates that half of all lifetime cases of mental illness begin by age 14, well before adulthood. Three new studies investigate the cognitive, genetic and environmental factors that may contribute to mental health disorders in adolescence. The studies are published in Psychological Science and Clinical Psychological Science, journals of the Association for Psychological Science. `
